I’m posting from Urbana 2012, the student missions conference held every three years in St. Louis , Missouri, were 16,000 students have converged to seek God for their potential future in missions.
I’m working a booth with Converge Worldwide as we seek a new generation of missionaries. The cool thing about Urbana is that agencies come first to promote the kingdom of God and secondarily their own involvement in the kingdom. That means we refer people to other agencies regularly if we perceive a better fit based upon ministry, location, or ethos, agencies with whom we have experience or partnership such as Pioneers, Youth Missions International or Wycliffe.
It’s refreshing to be with students and see what God is doing in their hearts. I love talking with them, guiding them from my experiences and hopefully, wisdom. For some students, missionary fulfillment begins at Urbana.
